consumer protection ordinance
Summit County Ordinance No. 759,
also know as the “Consumer Protection” ordinance
was implemented to protect consumers from
unconscionable, unfair or deceptive consumer sales
practices while engaging in commerce. The
ordinance allows the Office of Consumer Affairs
to implement consumer education and foreclosure
prevention programs, intake consumer complaints
and mediate resolutions, investigate facts and
refer matters to other law enforcement agencies
for prosecution.
