Valerie De Rose, Coordinator
Valerie has been with the Agency since 1988. She coordinates the 9-1-1 activities within Summit County. Valerie also serves as an executive board member in the capacity of Secretary for the Local Emergency Planning Committee and maintains all the Right-to-Know files for hazardous materials reporting in Summit County. Valerie is Co-Chair of the Summit County Public Safety Telecommunicators Training Committee, which offers educational programs to the areas communications specialists. She also provides educational programs to the area's youth by teaching the proper uses of 
9-1-1 at Safety Towns and Safety Cities around the county.

Valerie was born and raised in Fairlawn. She graduated from Copley High School and attended Ohio University and the University of Akron. Valerie currently resides in West Akron and has been involved in public safety for over 20 years. Valerie is a former firefighter and communications specialist in charge of training for the City of Fairlawn where she served on the reunion committee for the charter members. As an active member of the National Emergency Number Association she has been an executive board member since 1990, serving in several board positions including President in 1994 and 1995.
