Connie
Krauss was appointed to the position of Director of
Community and Economic Development for the County of Summit on
July 1, 2008 by County Executive Russell M. Pry. She oversees
the County's Planning, Building Standards, Community Development
Programs and Economic Development.
Prior to her
employment at Summit County, Connie was the Vice President of
Government Affairs at the Greater Akron Chamber, where she was
involved in the planning stages of the National Inventors Hall
of Fame School and the Harvard ExEL program with Akron Public
Schools.
Connie is a
member of the AMATS Policy Committee, Biomedical Advisory Board,
Cascade Capital Corporation Executive Board, Community
Improvement Corporation, Economic Development Task Force, Joint
Office of Economic Development, Social Services Advisory Board,
Summit Medina Business Alliance, Summit Workforce Solutions
Board, Tax Incentives Review Council and Workforce Investment
Board. Connie is also seated on the Executive Committee of the
National Inventors Hall of Fame School… Center for Science,
Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Learning, and Women's
Endowment Fund Board.
Connie
graduated from The University of Akron, Summa cum Laude with a
B.A. in Political Science in 1996, and M.A. in Political Science
in 1998. She also received certification in Applied Politics,
Campaign Management from the Bliss Institute at The University
of Akron.
Connie has
worked with local, state and federal officials on issues
important to economic development, funding and policy. She is
knowledgeable in the legislative process and government funding.
